At St.Marys, our Geography curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong curiosity about the world, its diverse environments, and the people who inhabit it. To deliver a rigorous and engaging education, we follow the knowledge-rich  Curriculum . Carefully sequenced from Early Years through to Year 6, the PKC framework ensures pupils systematically build powerful geographical knowledge—knowing more and remembering more as they explore core concepts such as place, space, scale, environment, and global interconnectedness.

Through this approach, pupils learn to think, question, and analyse like geographers. Each year begins with a dedicated 'Spatial Sense' unit, explicitly teaching essential mapping, positional, and data-interpretation skills that children then apply when studying physical features, climate zones, and human activity across the globe. From exploring our immediate local community to investigating global trade, biomes, and environmental issues, pupils develop a strong sense of location alongside the critical thinking needed to understand complex world connections and become informed global citizens.
